I picked up Krita again over the weekend. I've used the software before and liked it, but actually sitting down at a computer and painting can be difficult. I usually use my Ipad for coloring: it's handy, portable, and easy to pick up or set down as the day allows. I have an app I very much like called Paper53; It has one of the best traditional brush sets I've seen, and with a bit of persuading, can turn out lovely results.
All of my early art was colored that way, having something functional only made it harder to dedicate the time to sitting in front of a computer. As it turns out though, I had no idea what I was missing.
Initial values test.
